we took the lil’ one to musee mechanique in san francisco and probably could have spent the whole day there playing with all the old games, music boxes and toys. the lil’ one was entranced.

it has been years since i’ve gone scuba diving (i think my last trip was in vietnam back in 2010) so i was a bit nervous about diving again during our cruise vacation. i was worried if i would forget how do to breathe or maintain buoyancy or even swim but once under the clear water of cabo san lucas, it all came back to me. hopefully i can do another trip sooner rather than later :)

i learned something quite important today.
if you stick a lil’ one on a step stool with nothing around her to support herself down, she will be stuck there. this made making dinner much easier.

the first day on the cruise and the lil’ one was put on the carnival wall of fame for this photo. i laughed thinking what a fluke it was that she was perfectly posed.

i met the dad my freshman year of college as we lived on the same floor at ucsc. i met the mom about a year later when they started dating. this was over fifteen years ago. so i may or may not have cried a bit when i first met their son. i don’t photograph newborns often but when i do, it’s these kinds of photos that makes me fall in love with photography all over again.

when she’s older, we hope she understands the significance of our family name (or at least her middle name :) driving around the l.a. area, i have seen a lot of billboards and bus shelter posters for the film but this was the only one that we found that has the ebbets field ballpark on it so we had to stop and take a photo.

seriously, the front of our home is this location! i told the husband that sometimes i feel that us finding this home is a dream and we’re going to have the bank show up one day saying that we need to return it.

this is a nice and calm week before the real craziness begins. i leave for l.a. next week and will be working out of there for a week. two family sessions and mom & me mini-sessions (although who knows what else might come up while i’m down there). we then get to take a nice (and much needed) vacation for a seven day cruise through mexico with my parents. we return to my in-laws...
