i’m mentally preparing myself for the arrival of the in-laws…they’ll be staying with us for three weeks…i’m actually not so sure that i can mentally prepare myself for this (there is the language barrier since my dutch is non-existence…i work from home…and we are a one car household). normally, i wouldn’t need to prepare myself but with myself still...

currently watching: the garbage pail kids movie!
i loved collecting these cards growing up (they were so much more fun than baseball cards) and remember watching this movie on the good ol’ vhs back in the eighties. i actually wish that i still had the cards so i could pass them down to the future lil’ one…there really wasn’t anything better than going to the ice cream...

the husband and i attempted to take advantage of the smithsonian’s free museum day and go to the california academy of science…which we do not recommend. the line to exchange the printout for your free ticket was incredibly long at 10am…it wrapped around the ca academy of science out onto jfk drive! we took one look at the intense line and opted to avoid it. instead, we enjoyed...

i thought that the vivid, intense, out of this world crazy dreams would start in the third trimester. but the past eight+ weeks, each night has been an overwhelming experience of crazy, wacky, colorful dreams. they are so intense that i feel like i need to ground myself when i wake up. is this something that i have to look forward to (not) for the next seven months?!

* it’s hard because it’s still early to share in the news with everyone but we feel that it’s okay to tell the loved ones since we’re at the two month mark and it’s really hard talking to my family...
going through my summer vacation photos to vietnam…makes me warm and fuzzy thinking of the memories spent there with my family…definitely makes me look forward to the day when i can take our own family there and show them more of my history and its incredible culture…

Baking fail
I haven’t had too many food cravings but tonight, I was really in the mood for freshly baked, soft, chewy chocolate chip cookies. But unfortunately, I wasn’t too focused because I know I read the recipe to say baking soda but instead, I used baking powder. Talk about a super big baking fail. I will just have to try again because the super poofy and doughy cookies just didn’t hit...

an alternate space
for the past four years, i’ve mused over on blogspot yet for the past year, it has become more of an outlet for my photography and work…therefore, i’ve limited the true personal stuff in that world. i tried tumblr a few years ago and was “meeeeh” about it. however, my web surfing has become more “familial” based and discovered that tumblr had more...
